Bihar Boat Accident News: Boat carrying 30 children capsizes in Bagmati river in Muzaffarpur, 20 rescued, 10 still missing | Patna News

    MUZAFFARPUR: In a tragic incident, a boat carrying 30 children capsized in Bagmati river in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Thursday.
    At least 10 children went missing after the boat capsized in the river and 20 have been rescued so far, reported news agency PTI quoting officials.

    The incident took place near Madhupur Patti ghat along the Bagmati river.
    According to Muzaffarpur DM, the incident took place between 10.30-11am today. Teams of NDRF and SDRF have been rushed to the accident site.
    Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said that the district magistrate has been asked to look into the matter with urgency.
    “Rescue operation is under way. I have asked the district magistrate concerned to look into the matter with urgency. The state government will provide all assistance to the affected families”, the CM said.
    Kumar is in Muzaffarpur to review the progress of ongoing projects in the district.
