After managing a paltry 213-run total on the board, India were off to a rollicking start with the ball in their ongoing Asia Cup fixture against Sri Lanka, as ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah rattled the Lankan top order with twin strikes. The experienced pacer dismissed opener Pathum Nissanka before removing Kusal Mendis to leave Sri Lanka in complete disarray.

However, in an unfortunate turn of events, Bumrah hurt himself during the first over of the Lankan innings, twisting his ankle on his follow through. The incident looked scary in real time as the seamer took a while to recover and get back to his run-up.

He seemed to be in slight discomfort, as he adopted a cautious approach while bowling the remaining deliveries of his over.

The fast bowler troubled the Lankan batters with pace and movement, dismissing Nissanka and Mendis in quick succession. However, after bowling his first spell, Bumrah walked off the field as a precautionary measure.

But in a positive turnaround, Bumrah has returned to the ground and is fielding at the moment. Considering he twisted his ankle earlier, it will be interesting to see if Rohit Sharma decides to bowl him his full quota of overs in this match.
