Chinese President Xi Jinping’s absence from G20 summit linked to political pressures at home: Reports | International

A report in Nikkei Asia claims seniors in the Chinese Communist Party have come down heavily on Xi Jinping for alleged mismanagement of the economy. Xi is not used to this kind of reprimand ever since the time he has been in power. The Chinese leader\'s unexpected decision not to attend G20 summit being held in India this year came as a surprise considering Xi’s consistent record of attending all previous such meetings. Reports also said that Xi has vented his frustration to his closest aides, and has blamed past President for the ills plaguing his country now.
