Italy is considering to withdraw from China’s Belt and Road Initiative, as it says that joining BRI has failed to meet the country’s expectations. Italy is only G7 nation that is taking part in the BRI initiative. Italy’s foreign minister Antonio Tajani has said that BRI has not produced the results that Italy wanted. The BRI deal will renew automatically in 2024, unless Italy withdraws by this year’s end. China’s ambitions in Europe will suffer a big setback if Italy quits BRI.
