Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi praised the vision of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and said that he worked for the unity of India. She also said that he worked for women\'s empowerment and gave the right to the young generation to vote at the age of 18 years. She also criticised the BJP government saying that some groups are endangering the unity of India and they have the support of the people in power. She was speaking on the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi\'s birth anniversary. The 25th Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award for 2020-21 was given to Banasthali Vidyapith. Reacting to Sonia Gandhi\'s remarks BJP said that Sonia Gandhi can praise his legacy but she should not hide the truth. BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said that country saw how Rajiv Gandhi\'s decisions impacted India adversely.
