WhatsApp Users To Soon Get Sticker Maker Tool Within The App On iOS; Check Here

    WHATSAPP regularly make headlines for beta testing new features across Android, iOS, Windows and more. Continuing this saga, the Meta-owned app is working on a new feature on iOS that allows the user to create stickers within the app, WABetaInfo reported.

    The news tracker discovered the new tool in the beta version – on iOS via the TestFlight app. Because the feature is under development, it is currently not rolling out to beta testers on the platform. But as always, the WhatsApp enthusiast shared a screenshot giving us more details about the feature.

    WhatsApp Beta Update: New Sticker tool

    A new menu option named ‘New Sticker’ within the chat share action sheet is visible in the screengrab. Other than this, the platform was unable to go deep into the feature because of a lack of discoverability. However, a user will be able to select an image from the device storage to transform it into a sticker and remove the background, among other editing options.

    Sticker Maker Tool: Benefits and Availability

    This feature will reduce the dependency of a WhatsApp user on third-party sticker maker apps. Further, this will allow users to better experience the platform natively. Likewise, similar functionality is already available on WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Desktop. However, this feature will come with more features on iOS. The news platform reports that the sticker maker tool is expected to release in a future version of the app.

    Shifting gears to other beta updates, the company is testing a redesigned chat share sheet and a new emoji panel on the Web beta version. The icon in the chat share sheet in the beta update is labelled. And the new emoji desk is compact with a smaller footprint within the UI. You can read more on this update here.
