My life turned upside down! Gurgaon man gets fired during Google India Layoffs

Google Layoffs 2023 made their waves in India. Recently, around 450 employees from Google India were fired. Amongst these employees was a man from Gurgaon, Haryana who shared that his life turned upside down the minute he found out he’s been fired, despite working round the clock to bring in the best results. Sagar Gilhotra worked at Google India as a Strategic Partner Development Manager. Sagar took to LinkedIn to pen an emotional note regarding the Google Layoffs in India.

\"I was laid off from my position as a Strategic Partner Development Manager at Google India. At 8:34 pm IST, my life was turned upside down,\" he shared in his post.

The \"pro-Googler\", he mentioned that he has always given his best to the company. Sagar also shared that he got a spot bonus for his performance at Google India, specifically YouTube live shopping in India.

“Despite my contributions, it\'s heartbreaking to see talented people being let go. But, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining. I am optimistic that this change will lead me down a new path of growth and self-discovery,\" stated Sagar.

Google laid off a total of 453 employees in India as part of the massive downsizing announced in January. As per reports, Google India\'s country head and Vice President, Sanjay Gupta sent the email to the employees late at night on February 16, 2023.

Google Layoffs 2023 were announced in January 2023 where it was revealed that over 12,000 employees would be let go. During the Google Layoffs, employees found that they had been laid off through an official email on their personal inboxes. While others stated that their access cards had been denied and were locked out of their system,
