2023 Tata Safari Facelift spotted testing – New details inside! 2023 Tata Safari Facelift spotted testing

Following the sightings of the popular Tata Motors’ facelifted Harrier, the elder sibling Safari’s facelift has now also been spotted testing in the country. The most recent set of spy pictures of the Tata Safari facelift reveals a few more details about the SUV that were not known until now. The pictures provide us with information that the forthcoming Safari facelift will feature a brand-new fascia and will also come equipped with a revised interior layout. Additional features for the ADAS are also expected with the upcoming SUV.

The pictures come courtesy of Drivespark. From the pictures of the front of the SUV, it can be noted that the facelifted Safari will receive an all-new front fascia with a fully revised front bumper. The entire front will be more chiseled and will boast a boxy appearance. The car will continue to feature the split LED DRL and headlight design, but this time the headlights will be vertically stacked up. It appears that the front grille will also be changed to give the front a differentiating appearance.

Next up, on the side profile, from the pictures of the test mule, it can be noted that not much has been altered, and it will largely remain the same as the outgoing Safari. The only noticeable difference on the side profile was the use of a different set of alloy wheels from the outgoing model. However, it is not confirmed if this is the design that will be offered in the production iteration of the SUV. Moving on to the rear, no apparent changes can be noted, but we can expect the company to offer a rear bumper with the facelifted model.

In terms of changes to the interior of the facelifted Tata Safari, it is anticipated that the SUV will be getting a revised interior. Most likely, the SUV will be getting an all-new dashboard layout, and the infotainment system could also be upgraded. It has been reported that a new sensor has been installed in the area right behind the IRVM and the windscreen. It is anticipated that the forthcoming Tata Safari facelift will have this new sensor as part of the ADAS technology. Currently, the ADAS offered in the Tata Safari and Harrier Dark Red Edition is not promising, and it is believed that with the addition of this new sensor, the system would get an upgrade.

As for the drivetrain side of things, a new 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with 168bhp of peak power and 280Nm of peak torque may be featured in the next Tata Safari facelift’s drivetrain. This 1.5L Turbo Petrol engine is the same one that the carmaker displayed at the Auto Expo 2023. Most likely, apart from this powertrain, the 2.0-liter Kyrotec diesel engine that produces 170 PS and 350 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox will still be offered with the brand’s flagship SUV.
