The new heavily-updated MG Hector will be unveiled officially in January 2023, and will also be there on display at the Auto Expo 2023. The new version of the SUV was being teased in bits and pieces in recent weeks on the official social media handles of MG Motor India.

Talking about the front profile of the heavily-updated MG Hector, the SUV will get a larger, bolder-looking front grille, which now gets more angular surrounds with a dark chrome finish and diamond-themed inserts.

While the split daytime running LEDs are the same as before, the lower-positioned headlamps on the front bumper look new with more angular dark chrome surrounds. The front bumper also gets a rectangular radar in the middle, which indicates that the new version of the Hector will come equipped with ADAS functions like its other stablemates, Astor and Gloster.

On the inside, MG has revised the cabin entirely with a new layout, comprising of a more slanted and larger 14-inch portrait-style infotainment system, a new fully-digital instrument console, sleeker AC vents and a broader lower centre console with an aluminium finish. All the key features of the current version, such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, powered front seats, leather upholstery and automatic climate control will be retained in this new version too.

The Hector will also offer remote-controlled features to open or close sunroof, control the climate control system, switch on the ignitioon, vehicle start, door lock, car location, and more. Features like geo-fencing and navigation are also available with the new Hector.

While MG has heavily updated the exterior and interior of the Hector, the new version of the SUV will continue to have the same set of powertrain options on offer. The new heavily-updated MG Hector will be offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with the options of a 6-speed manual and CVT gearboxes and a 2.0-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
