Telangana government is acting strictly against the encroaching of lakes and illegal constructions. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy affirmed that the government will act against all illegal constructions even if people from within the government or any influential figure are involved.
Revanth Reddy instituted the HYDRAA – Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency for the same purpose. HYDRAA reclaimed 44 Acres in 3 months already by demolishing 18 illegal structures.

Impressed with HYDRAA’s work, the Gandipet Welfare Society organized a Support Walk to raise awareness about protecting the lakes. Through this walk, the citizens and local authorities emphasized the importance of preserving Hyderabad’s water bodies and their surroundings.
On the other hand, HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath submitted a detailed report to the state government highlighting several high-profile demolitions, including properties linked to politicians and business leaders. The aim of the team HYDRAA is to restore public lands.

Apart from Akkineni Nagarjuna, the other influential persons whose constructions are demolished are Pallam Anand (brother of Congress leader Pallam Raju), Mohmad Mubeen (AIMIM MLA), GV Bhaskar Rao (Kaveri Seeds owner and former TTD member), Mirza Rahmat Beig (AIMIM MLC), and some others.
Demolitions happened across various areas of Hyderabad like Gandipet, Lotus Pond, Mansoorabad, BJR Nagar, Gajularamaram, Banjara Hills and Ameerpet.
