17th batch of EPGP begins at IIM-K

The 17th batch of the Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) began at the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) on Tuesday. Hailed as a top-tier MBA for working professionals, as many as 548 students registered for it this year.

Adil Zainulbhai, chairman of the capacity building commission and former chairman of McKinsey India, was the chief guest at the induction ceremony. IIM-K Director Prof. Debashis Chatterjee presided over the event.

The current cohort recorded 26% of female participants, which is the highest ever gender diversity that the programme has ever witnessed. The batch jointly represents more than 150 organisations and over 50% of the batch is constituted of participants in the age group of 30 to 39.

Candidates represent diverse areas such as IT/software, public sector, energy, aerospace, education, consulting, manufacturing, automotive, accounting, banking, and insurance etc. Candidates with six to nine years’ experience make up for 30% of the batch. The cohort’s average work experience stands at nearly 10 years.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Adil Zainulbhai encouraged MBA aspirants to reinvent themselves with focus on developing a learning mindset and discovering the joy of ‘creating’ and ‘building’ for a self-reliant India by 2047.

EPGP is a two-year Master’s programme in management offered on the Interactive Learning platform leading to MBA degree.
