120 Bahadur – Can Bollywood Recreate The Magic of Amaran?

Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film 120 Bahadur is scheduled to arrive in cinemas next year. The actor recently shared two posters through Instagram that have grabbed a lot of attention on different platforms.

The posters were shared on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the battle of Rezang La. Notably, the film will focus on the life of Maj Shaitan Singh, who was also a part of the battle, and the posters paid tribute to all those who fought bravely at the time.

Farhan’s social media post also reads, “Their story echoes through time, reminding us of the price of freedom and the strength of unity, with a special salute to the Ahir community, whose sons displayed unmatched bravery in defending our nation.”

The upcoming film will also be a tribute to the soldiers and the premise will focus on the actions taken by the 13 Kumaon Regiment’s Charlie Company. While other details related to the film remain unknown, it is being helmed by Razneesh Ghai.

Despite having such a strong concept, it remains to be seen if audiences are interested in watching it. Although Farhan is a talented director, he hardly left an impression with his acting, except on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

The makers might be motivated by the success of Amaran in Tamil Nadu. But there is a big difference. Amaran features Sivakarthikeyan, who has always tried something unique in terms of his characters.

The same cannot be said for Farhan Akhtar. For now, nothing can be speculated until the official trailer is released and the rest will be dependent on the budget. Amaran grossed almost Rs. 300 crores and it remains to be seen if Farhan can do the same.
