10 confirmed things about the game

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI or GTA 6) is one of the most highly anticipated action-adventure open-world games and is set for a 2025 launch. After the GTA 6 trailer leaked, Rockstar Games had to release the first trailer of GTA 6 quickly. Here are 10 confirmed facts about GTA 6.

1. GTA 6 location
   Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI or GTA 6 is an open-world role-playing game set in Leonida, Vice City. As GTA fans know, the fictional Vice City takes inspiration from Miami, Florida. Leonida is “home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond”, says Rockstar Games.
2. GTA 6 protagonists
   There are two protagonists in GTA VI: Lucia and an unnamed male protagonist (earlier GTA 6 leaks refer to him as Jason but Rockstar hasn’t confirmed it). In the GTA 6 Trailer 1, we saw Lucia dressed in a light orange-coloured prisoner’s garb.
3. GTA 6: Lucia has a corrections counsellor
   In the GTA 6 trailer 1, Lucia’s corrections counsellor asks her: “Lucia, do you know why you are here?”, to which Lucia replies, “Bad luck, I guess”. From the looks of it, the counsellor woman seems to be a supporting character in Rockstar’s upcoming open-world RPG.
4. Partners in crime who could be lovers
   Both Lucia and the male character will team up and as the trailer suggests, seem to relish breaking the law. There is emphasis on the word “trust” which hints at the theme of fragile loyalties. The GTA VI trailer also suggests that both GTA 6 protagonists could be in a physical relationship.
5. GTA 6 vehicles
   Based on GTA 6 trailer 1, we expect Rockstar Games to add biplanes, seaplanes, speed boats, cargo ships, yachts, bikes, amphibious choppers, trucks, quad bikes, vans, a string of cars and more vehicles to GTA 6.
6. GTA 6 will feature its own in-game social media platform
   The GTA 6 trailer shows several social media posts on a video-sharing platform akin to Instagram or TikTok. The posts shown in the GTA 6 trailer also feature emojis and hashtags. How Grand Theft Auto players will be a part of GTA 6’s in-game social media has been kept in the wraps for now.
7. Two factions are confirmed for GTA 6
   Two factions–the Thrillbilly Mud Club and High Rollerz Lifestyle–are going to be featured in GTA 6. There’s also mention of a dirt bike gang in the trailer but not its name.
8. GTA 6 trailer 1 features Florida-born artist Tom Petty’s song
   The GTA 6 trailer 1 features the song ‘Love Is a Long Road” by American singer and songwriter Thomas Earl Petty, more popularly known as Tom Petty, who hails from Florida. The GTA 6 trailer 1 song is taken from Petty’s solo album ‘Full Moon Fever’.
9. GTA 6 launch date
   GTA 6 is set to release in ‘Fall 2025’ which could be a great launch time as the holiday season will be close. Rockstar Games remains tight-lipped about the launch date, though.
10. GTA 6 platforms
    For now, GTA 6 is set to launch only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar may get PS4, Xbox One and PC players a port later but that’s not confirmed yet.
