1.7% Insignificant, 11 Seats Significant: What Logic Jagan?

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to boycott the AP Assembly sessions after his party was not given granted opposition party status. According to the rules, YCP with just 11 seats is not eligible for opposition status as a party must win at least 10% of the total seats to get that status.

However, Jagan being Jagan, boycotted the assembly in July and repeated the same in November. However, he continues to hold press conferences from his Tadepalli residence.

During his press conference today, Jagan refused to speak about his sister and APCC chief YS Sharmila, stating that he doesn’t want to talk about an insignificant party like Congress.

“Let’s not talk about my sister. The Congress Party has a 1.7% vote share here. Let’s not talk about a party which is insignificant in Andhra Pradesh,” Jagan stated.

Meanwhile, people find it amusing that Jagan considers the Congress party with a 1.7% vote share insignificant while YCP with just 11 seats is significant enough to demand opposition status.
